Khopoli (Maharashtra), Sep 27 (IANS): Plunge from a dizzy 72-feet into the aquagreen water, zoom down water slides, laze around wave pools or cool under waterfalls.
These and many other attractions are now available at India's first international standard Aquamagica waterpark that has just opened the gates to never before seen entertainment and fun for people of all ages.
The launch of the new youth hangout destination promises thrilling and eye-popping water park experiences amidst a lush green environment.
Situated at Khalapur in Raigad district, around 90 km from Mumbai, Aquamagica is designed to be an "all-weather entertainment destination".
"Aquamagica is built on the Mykonos theme from Greece and takes one on a journey of twists, turns and loads of aqua fun," said Kapil Bagla, CEO, Adlabs Entertainment Ltd, at the launch earlier this week.
Advocating "go with the flow" it invites water lovers to experience 14 types of water slides, wave pools, an aqua loop, individual and family slides, natural-light effect rides, rattlers, a beach-front, waterfalls, cabanas and a 72-feet plunge in the water and laze around pools, with a range of exciting eating options.
Aiming to become a hangout for young party-goers, Indian and international artists and DJs will perform through the year under the "Go With The Flow" banner this weekend.
After the inaugural weekender, a musical extravaganze with artists Ankytrixx and Madboi/Mink will regale the audiences here Oct 4.
Bagla said all rides have been supplied by international water park manufacturers and now Aquamagica - coupled with Imagica - spread over 138 acres, make it one of India's biggest entertainment destinations.
Hoping to attract the crowds, Aquamagica has offered an introductory ticket of Rs.500/head till Sep. 30. And the crowds are already thronging - taking advantage of the ongoing festive season and flood of holidays.
Bagla said that all environmentally-conscious efforts like water conservation have been implemented here, including a rainwater harvesting reservoir which caters to the entire requirements of Aquamagica (www.aquamagica.com ).
"With the launch of Aquamagica, we are one step closer to creating one of the biggest entertainment destinations in India, every Indian will be able to enjoy and have an international standard experience without the need to travel overseas," commented Manmohan Shetty, chairman of Adlabs Entertainment, just prior to the launch.
Adjacent to the venue is a new four-star hotel coming up which will be operational by the year-end with alluring packages to visit Imagica and Aquamagica, Bagla said.
"With this hotel, people will be able to enjoy a three-four days' funfilled getaway holiday in this part of the world, in the lap of greenery but easily accessible by road, rail and air, with close proximity to the country's commercial capital," Bagla added.
In tune with its philosophy of growing with the community, Bagla said that since its inception, Imagica has provided 98 percent of jobs to local youths from villages and towns around the theme park in Mumbai, Thane, Raigad and Pune districts.
Bagla said the entertainment complex has created over 2,000 jobs for the locals, including 40 percent freshers. Imagica has trained them as per their competencies/roles.
Little wonder, in just over a year in July, Imagica hosted over a million visitors from Maharashtra, Gujarat, Delhi, Bangalore, Rajasthan, Punjab and West Bengal among others, including around 250,000 students from over 500 schools around the country.
