Sullia, Sep 26: A mobile phone has saved a minor girl from an attempted rape.
The girl was walking alone on the Kenaje Kajala road to fetch her grandmother home. Then a biker appeared and forcibly took the girl to a nearby forest place. Just then, the mobile phone in the possession of the girl started ringing. Frightened by the ring, the attacker fled from the spot in his bike.
The girl has said that the attacker was wearing a mask. She could only manage to identify the last two digits on the number plate of his bike.
When the girl confided the story to her parents, her father complained to the Sullia police station. The police are investigating the case.
