Bangalore, Sep 25: Kanara Entrepreneurs (KE) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Christ University to nurture entrepreneurship among students to mentor and give a boost to its students to become successful entrepreneurs.
This MoU was signed during the biennial seminar 'Entreprenet 2014' on February 1, 2014. As a follow up to the MOU, a one-day workshop was conducted at the Christ University campus recently.
To take this initiative forward, recently, an industrial visit was conducted to the following two facilities of members of Kanara Entrepreneurs: The Deccan Group, a diversified group that manufactures transformers, UPVC, steel doors, windows and leather garments catering to Indian and global customers and Brilliant Printers, one of the largest printers in India, with a global footprint.
The industrial visit was organized in two groups of 50 students each. The students spent considerable time at each factory and learnt about production, marketing, finance, HR and so on. The students were further split into groups and a guided tour conducted by the employees of the respective companies.
The students were impressed with the facilities, the knowledge they imparted and expressed their desire to visit again and learn more. They profusely thanked Kanara Entrepreneurs and specifically the managements of the two companies for the same.
As summarized by Sridharan, professor Management Studies, Christ University, “We were really impressed with Brilliant Printers and the way they professionally run the institution, taking adequate care of their employees and taking care of quality aspects. They walk the talk of their vision and mission of delivering the best to their clients - an uncompromising attitude. This shows in your growth. In the last 44 years, they have grown from a nondescript shed to a land of your own of a size of 1.3 lakh sq.ft."
“Words do not measure up to what the students experienced at Deccan, from transformers to textile to window frames to leather industry, all in one premises. The students repeatedly mentioned it was indeed an experience of lifetime,“ he added.
“It was the right dosage for students who would like to be the future entrepreneurs as it helped them understand the nuances of businesses and the efforts needed to be not just good but great entrepreneurs. Overall, it was a wonderful and delightful experience and we hope to continue our journey with Kanara Entrepreneurs in a big way in the days to come,” he concluded.
