Mysore, Oct 3: The State will observe a bandh tomorrow following a call from pro-Kannada Organisations in protest against the Central Government's partisan attitude over the Karnataka-Maharashtra border dispute.

The Karnataka Gadinadu Horata Samithi, a forum of pro-Kannada organisations, has urged the cinema halls, schools and other commercial establishments to observe bandh, but here in the city, it is still a mixed response.

The posters, banners and other handbills announced the bandh tomorrow, but as far as schools are concerned, it is officially not announced about the closure tomorrow. Only today, the schools were re-opened after 10-day Dasara holidays.

Though the officials of the District Administration were not available for confirmation as they are busy with the CM's programmes.

However, the Hebbal Industrialists Association (HIA) here has expressed its solidarity with the bandh.

But the scene among auto drivers is entirely different. The auto drivers say the timing to call for a bandh is not right. 'Dasara festival has just ended but the crowd is still in city and we will lose good business by staying off road tomorrow', an auto driver said echoeing the same sentiments of several auto drivers.

It is learnt that the KSRTC will ply buses only to safe places depending on the situation. The Divisional Controller Ashok Kumar said the final decision of plying KSRTC buses would be taken up only tomorrow morning after consulting the Police.

Even traders are confused about the bandh as the city is still on the festive mood bringing in a lot of customers.

The bandh timing is from 6 am to 6 pm. However, drug stores and hospitals will be exempted from the bandh.
