Mangalore, Oct 3: The festival of Dasara came to a grand end with the Shobhayatra of Kudroli Gokarnanatheshwara Temple on Monday October 2.
The day was also marked as Vijayadashami. The Shobhayatra included idols of Mahaganapathi, Navadurga and Goddess Sharada. The procession was led by Congress leader B Janardhan Poojary.
About 100 tableaux that showcased the culture of the region added colour to the procession. The highlight of the event was the Dollu Kunita displaying the rich culture of the neighbouring state Kerala.
In Udupi district, nine-day festivities ended with the Rathotsava at Kollur Mookambika Temple. The day was marked by several pujas followed by the installation of the idol of Goddess Mookambika by temple priest Manjunath Adiga at 8.30 pm.
