Panaji, Sep 23 (IANS): Foreign students studying in Goa must register themselves online with the union home ministry's e-module Foreign Students Information System (FSIS) for enhancing security and improving facilitation for expatriates, an official statement said Tuesday.

The statement issued by the Goa Police also said that manual processing of registration, extension, return visa formalities of foreign students studying in Goa, will be discontinued from Oct 15.

"As part of this Project, it has been decided to create a central database of foreign students in India from security point of view and to monitor their activities/performance during their study in various educational institutions in India," the statement said.

"The college/institute should get themselves registered with this office to further provide unique ID to foreign students," it added.
