Kasargod, Sep 22: Police personnel attached to Kumble Police station have arrested two people with a locally made gun and have seized the car in which they were travelling.
The arrested are identified as Bela Kumara Mangala, estate owner Michael D'Almeida (43) and Prashanth (35), resident of Hassan. They were arrested from Nalkala near Adkastala on Sunday September 21 at 11 pm. When the police on patrol stopped the car and checked, it is said that they found the gun in it. The car was seized.
They reportedly told that they were bringing estate owner from Hassan. There were three more people in the car besides Michael. It is said that Prashanth had the gun. They said the police that they were taking the gun for hunting pigs.
There was no license for the gun. It is suspected that it may also be a toy gun. Police are investigating. Police have released two more people who were in the car.
