Abuja, Sep 16 (IANS) Nigeria coach Stephen Keshi will soon sign a fresh contract with the football federation to manage the West African country's senior national team, also known as Super Eagles, an official said.
The contract may be signed in less than one month, before the 2015 African Cup Of Nations (AFCON) qualifier between the Super Eagles and their Sudanese counterpart Oct 11, secretary-general of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) Musa Amadu said here Monday, reports Xinhua.
Nigeria will slug it out with Sudan in Omdurman, in continuation of the AFCON qualifiers, before the return-leg in the Nigerian capital Oct 15.
Amadu said the contract renewal will boost the morale of the team and help them secure a ticket for the Nations Cup that will be hosted by Morocco.
"I know it is critically important that the coach signs his contract to secure his future and to know exactly what is due to him. I am sure we will be able to sort out things before the next two games against Sudan," the official said.
