Moodbidri, Sep 23: The police have arrested 4 persons for illegal transport of cattle at Thodar near here on Friday September 22.
The police received a sure tip off on Friday morning about the cattle being transported illegally on a Mahindra Pick-up vehicle. Accordingly, the police stopped the vehicle at Thodar and arrested four persons. However, two more persons managed to escape during the police raid.
The arrested have been identified as Hasanabba, son of Cheyyabba of Kallabettu, Ilias and Imtiaz and Jaleel, sons of Bava Beary of Karinje. The police have seized the vehicle along with a mobike. Two buffaloes and 5 cows too have been seized in the raid.
The accused have already been produced before the Moodbidri court.
