Benfica defeats Vitoria Setubal in Portuguese league


Lisbon, Sep 13 (IANS): Benfica hammered Vitoria Setubal 5-0 in the fourth round of the Portuguese league at the Bonfim stadium in Setubal.

The win Friday included a hat-trick by Anderson Talisca, reported Xinhua.

Eduardo Salvio scored the first goal in the 10th minute, with a left-footed effort that went out of German goalkeeper Lukas Raeder's reach.

Brazilian Anderson Talisca scored in the 38th, 43rd and 55th and Dutch winger Ola John made it 5-0 in the 76th with an effort to the second post following a cross from Lima.

Benfica emphasized its Portuguese Liga credentials and the team is now at the top of the table, a point ahead of its rival Rio Ave.
