Mangalore, Sep 20: While the pathetic state of roads in the district has been a major concern for the people, it seems that, it is a blessing to the politicians and political parties.  People are concerned about their day-to-day journey, politicians are busy reaping maximum benefits from it by way of various political gimmicks.  These columns have continuously been reporting about protests, bundhs, agitations, rallies promoted by various political parties in the last 3 months.  Despite protests by almost all political parties, nothing has changed.  Roads have only worsened and not become better.

Now the second round of protests has started.  The district youth Congress leader Bondala Jagannath Shetty in a press conference on Tuesday September 19 said that, if the roads are repaired within September 30, they are going to hold National Highway bundh on October 1.

He said that buses and all others vehicles will be stopped from moving on National Highway.  A symbolic strike will be held at Farangipet wherein, with the help of locals, National Highway 48 will be blocked.
