Mangalore, Sep 19: The residents of Kannagudde, Saripalla and Kandevu staged protest against setting up of abattoir at Kannagudde near Kulshekar here on Monday September 18.
The protestors who gathered in front of the MCC office said that they do not want the abattoir at Kannagudde area. They said that the administration has failed in granting a school to Kannagudde and they are now trying to push through the abattoir project. "Even the drainage facility at Kannagudde area is very bad. If the abattoir is started in this area, it would have adverse impact on the environment," they said.
Alape-Padil Nagarika Seva Samiti led the protest in which people from Umikan, Kannagude, Saripalla, Kandevu, Nuji participated.
