Mangalore, Sep 17: The annual business awards distribution ceremony of Kanara Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KCCI) was held here on Saturday September 16.
Deputy chief minister B S Yediyurappa distributed the awards. The special category award for the highest taxpayer, highest turnover and highest number of employees went to MRPL, Kutethoor.
Altogether, 22 industries won awards in their respective categories.
Speaking on the occasion, Yediyurappa promised that the state government would take initiative to repair the damaged roads without waiting for the Union Government's funds. He also said that the government has cleared an investment proposal of Rs 90,000 crore with the last seven months.
Among those present were district in-charge minister B Nagaraj Shetty, MLAs Yogish Bhat and Krishna Palemar and KCCI president Srinivas Rao.
