Chennai, Sep 7 (IANS): S.J. Suryah, who acts and directs, has now donned the hat of a composer for his upcoming Tamil directorial "Isai". He says he spent six months to learn music before composing tunes for the film.
"Learning music was tougher than I anticipated. When A.R. Rahman told me that I can compose tunes for my film, I gathered the confidence to take up the challenge. I spent six months to learn music from scratch," Suryah told IANS.
"I practiced sincerely for about 10 hours every day. I spent more time on learning the guitar and piano. Since I was composing the music, I decided to sing as well. I've crooned the title track of the album. It's come out well and I hope audiences will love it," he said.
The audio of "Isai", which features Suryah in the lead, is expected to be out in a few weeks.
Also starring newcomer Savitri and Sathyaraj, "Isai" is the story of rivalry between two composers.
