Central Railway proposes new AC express train to Goa


Mumbai, Sep 1 (TNN): CR has proposed a new AC Express train to Goa. The superfast train finds a mention in the new CR timetable which will come into effect from Monday. On WR, the highlight of the new timetable is change in Rajdhani Express departure timing from Mumbai and speeding up of Indore Duronto by 30 minutes. The 12951 Mumbai-New Delhi Rajdhani Express has been brought forward by five minutes—it will leave at 4.35pm instead of 4.40pm.

CR chief spokesperson Narendra Patil said, "The train to Goa will leave LTT at 1.10am every Thursday and arrive at Karmali at 11am. The return train from Karmali will depart at 2pm every Thursday and reach LTT at 11.55pm." The superfast will halt at Thane, Panvel, Chiplun, Ratnagiri, Kankavli and Kudal. Some of the other proposed trains are Mumbai-Lucknow weekly AC express via Bhusaval-Khandwa-Itarsi-Jhansi; Mumbai-Chennai Central weekly express via Pune-Wadi; a bi-weekly Patna-Mumbai Premium AC train via Manikpur-Itarsi-Khandwa; Mumbai-Azamgarh weekly express via Itarsi-Jabalpur-Allahabad-Janupur-Shahganj.

The frequency of 17317 / 17318 Hubli-Mumbai-Hubli Express will soon be increased from weekly to daily while CR plans to terminate Mumbai-Madgaon Janshatabdi Express at Karmali.

The Howrah Mail via Allahabad will now leave CST at 9.30pm instead of 9.25pm and the Intercity Express will leave CST at 6.40am instead of 6.45am.
