Swiss squad for Euro 2016 qualifier against England

Geneva, Aug 29 (IANS): Switzerland manager Vladimir Petkovic Friday named the squad to face England in their opening 2016 European Championship qualifier in Basel Sep 8.

Xherdan Shaqiri and Goekhan Inler will be the two biggest threats for the English side.

Following is the Swiss squad:

Goalkeepers: Roman Buerki (Freiburg), Marwin Hitz (Augsburg), Yann Sommer (Moenchengladbach)

Defenders: Loris Benito (Benfica), Johan Djourou (Hamburg), Stephan Lichtsteiner (Juventus), Ricardo Rodriguez (Wolfsburg), Fabian Schaer (Basel), Philippe Senderos (Aston Villa), Steve Von Bergen (Young Boys), Silvan Widmer (Udinese).

Midfielders: Valon Behrami (Hamburg), Blerim Dzemaili (Napoli), Gelson Fernandes (Rennes), Fabian Frei (Basel), Goekhan Inler (Napoli), Pajtim Kasami (Olympiakos), Valentin Stocker (Hertha Berlin), Granit Xhaka (Moenchengladbach).

Forwards: Josip Drmic (Bayer Leverkusen), Admir Mehmedi (Freiburg), Haris Seferovic (Eintracht Frankfurt), Xherdan Shaqiri (Bayern Munich).
