Shikaripur: Yeddyurappa comes to the rescue of five fallen in water channel

Shikaripur (Shimoga), Aug 29 (DHNS): Former chief minister B S Yeddyurappa on Thursday night played the good Samaritan when he directed his escort staff to rescue five members of a family whose car had fallen into a channel.

The driver of the car lost control of it when it was on its way from Shimoga to Shikaripur and fell into the Anjanapura channel near the Esur-Chikkajogihalli cross road. The MP, who was passing by in his vehicle, asked driver Shivu to stop it.

He then asked Shivu, S I Huchappa and other staff in the escort team to rush to the family’s rescue.

Shashi, Veena, Shakuntalamma, Chennabasamma and two-year-old Pranav Vijay were successfully pulled out of the channel into which they had fallen.

Yeddyurappa then dropped them at their relatives’ place in Shikaripur.

The car has tyres with air in it and hence it floats. It is a common phenomenon for car to float in water if you try to drive across a stream, further on you will lose control once the tyres leave the ground.

Whatever may be the track record of Mr. Yediyurappa,at the moment of emergency he ordered his people to rescue the victims of the accident and succeeded in saving their life which is invaluable.Truly a Noble Task.It is not stage managed. If he had ignored them, you all would have happily blamed him forever.
The comments from some readers are disgusting to read.I am not a fan of Mr. Yediyurappa. But remember he saved the lives of 5 people. If you all don't have the culture to recognize the Noble act, does not matter but at least don't be sarcastic.Learn to appreciate good deeds. Your comments reflects your inner true character.I don't think you all would have commented negatively with immaturity if the victims were your relatives or friends.

Yeddyurappa is 72 years old, do you think he can jump into water to save a life? At least he showed concern and saved five lives through his escort men, while instead he could have just ignored and gone on. Remember, even when Khader helped an accident victim, he had asked his driver to take him to the hospital, while he himself took an auto. So let us just appreciate good deeds without finding flaws.
