Mumbai, Aug 28 (IANS): C. Vidyasagar Rao will be sworn-in as the new governor of Maharashtra Saturday, an official said.
Bombay High Court Chief Justice Mohit Shah will administer the oath of office to Rao at Raj Bhavan Saturday afternoon.
Rao, a leading Bharatiya Janata Party leader from Telangana will take over from Gujarat Governor O.P. Kohli who was given additional charge of Maharashtra last Sunday after the resignation of incumbent K. Sankaranarayanan to protest his late night transfer to Mizoram.
Shortly after the swearing-in ceremony, Rao will be accorded a guard of honour by the Indian Navy.
