University-level Cultural workshop organized by NSS

Kallianpur: A university-level cultural workshop is being organized by NSS from September 8 to 10 in the Silver Jubilee Hall of Milagres College.

Around 200 volunteers from DK, Udupi and Kodagu district are participating in the programme. It was inaugurated by Dr H S Suresh, NSS coordinator of Southern region, Bangalore .

College correspondent Fr Marcel Saldanha presided over the function. Principal Fr Fred Mascaranhas, college NSS coordinator Prof Jayaram Shettigar and resource person M N Joseph were present.

Nodal officer Dr Vishvanath compered the programme. Students are being in street play, folksongs and local culture by experts in the field.

Teachers' Day celebration and get-together

Kallianpur: Teachers' Day celebration and get-together of Milagres Educational institutions was held in the Milagres Tricentenary Hall on September 9.

Milagres Educational Instituions correspondent Fr Marcel Saldanha presided over and welcomed all the teaching and non-teaching staff.

Heads of Milagres College, Milagres PU College, Milagres High School, Milagres English High School and primary Schools, St Joseph Primary School, L V P School and vice president of parish council Leslie Lewis, assistant parish priest Fr Assisi Almeida from the staff of all the instituions were present.

Around 3500 students are stydying in Milagres instituions, of which Milagres High School is celebrating Platinum Jubilee on December 8 and 9, Milagres English School its Silver Jubilee in December and Milagres College its 40th year while St Joseph completed over 125 years.
