Bangalore, Aug 28: In a setback to the State government, the Karnataka Administrative Tribunal (KAT) on Wednesday restrained the State from beginning a fresh selection process to fill up 362 posts of Gazetted Probationers Group "A" and "B" following termination of earlier selection process due to allegation of corruption against the Karnataka Public Service Commission (KPSC).
"The status quo will have to be maintained in relation to the posts to which the applicants are already selected by the KPSC," said a Bench of the tribunal comprising acting Chairperson Abhijit Dasgupta and judicial member Moosa Kunhi Nayarmoole in its the interim order.
Chief Minister Siddaramaiah on Wednesday said he will study the Karnataka Administrative Tribunal’s order on restraining the State from beginning a fresh selection process to fill up 362 gazetted posts and give his reactions later.
Reacting to reporters question on the issue, Mr Siddaramaiah said "I have not yet gone through the order."
Minister for Energy D K Shivakumar said "the government has rejected the 2011 batch KPSC list to ensure justice to all meritorious students. No set back to the government." Age relaxation would be provided for providing an opportunity for 2011 batch candidates to appear from the examination, he said.
