Mangalore, Aug 26: The president of Praja Prabhutva Vedike Mahesh Shetty Thimarodi has condemned the allegations of Jagadish Karanth and has questioned his leadership as the leader of Hindu outfits.
Addressing the press meet in the Press Club on Tuesday August 26, he said that they felt bad with the allegations of the state convenor of Hindu Jagarana Vedike Jagadish Karanth.
He said, “We have not submitted the accounts of Ganeshothsava in Ujire. Karanth is not authorized person to ask the accounts. We are not organizing Ganeshothsava for making money. Whatever money that has remained in the past has been given to the state committee and they have not given the results. They have made the allegations just to get money from the people who are opposing the fight for justice for Sowjanya."
“He says that he has expelled me 12 years ago but he has forgotten the fact that the South India Regional Hindu Jagaran Vedike convenor Satyajit has participated and rendered the speech in the year 2009 and 2011 Ganeshothsava," he added.
He asked how a leader would participate in a programme where the organizers had been expelled from the organization.
He said that Jagadish Karanth had made those allegations only after they got into the fight for the justice of Sowjanya and in the previous years he had appreciated the way the Ganeshothsava was organized.
"Karanth is just trying to divide the community. If he is the true Hindu leader he would have participated in the fight for the justice of Sowjanya rather than just safeguarding his elder sister’s daughter who is studying in Dharmashtala institution,” he said.
He added, “By these allegations he has encouraged us to organize it in a better way. This is the only good deed he has done in his life. We call upon the Hindu brothers of the district to participate in more numbers.”
Vedike members Pramod Shety, Santhosh Kumar, Satish and Prajwal were among the present at the occasion.
