Portuguese league: Benfica beat Boavista

Lisbon, Aug 25 (IANS): Benfica beat Boavista 1-0 at the Bessa Stadium in Porto in the second round of the Portuguese league.

Eliseu scored in the 44th minute with an effort from outside the area following a pass by Andre Almeida Sunday, reports Xinhua.

The left-winger almost scored in the 22nd minute but his effort was saved by goalkeeper Monllor.
