Mangalore, Aug 23: In an incident which could be termed as squeamish, a student found a dead snake in the tetra-pack of Frooti juice which she purchased from a shop at lower Bendoor on Friday August 22.
"It seemed that the juice was blocked by some object as the liquid failed flow through the straw and further into my mouth when I sipped. Intrigued by the phenomenon, I opened the tetra-pack and to my disgust, found a snake like vertebrate in the pack," said Kunsang.
However, the photograph sent through WhatsApp by the guardian suggests that it is a long green creature that apparently resembles a dead green snake. However, the student claimed it to be a snake, while her friend's parent Barkath said he was unable to spot the name of the dead specie.
The student purchased the pack at Tejaswini store near lower Bendoor. The print on the box explained that the juice was not expired as it could be healthy drunk till January 2015. Kunsang further said that it appeared like a non venomous green snake and was surprised to find it in the largest selling mango flavored drink in India, Frooti. The colour of the mango flavored juice had turned green due to the presence of dead snake.
Barkath said he was unable to believe the experience his daughter's friend went through. He said that he would complain it to the concerned authority to try and avoid such incidents further.
