Kundapur, Aug 22: A married woman from Chennai, working for a software company in Bangalore, has filed police complaint, accusing a youth from the taluk of befriending her, capturing her pictures when in close proximity with him, blackmailing her, pressurizing her to part with cash and gold ornaments, and then forcing her to marry him. Although the complaint had been lodged sometime back, the incident came to light now. The accused in the case has been named as Cyril Joseph from Mudoor in the taluk.

Subhashini (23), a married lady from Chennai with a 18-month-old baby, works for Mphasis Ltd in Mahadevapura, Bangalore. Her husband is employed at Mysore. Cyril Joseph from Mudoor, who also worked for the same company, began to come close to her in the guise of fixing a rented house for her, escorting her to hospital when she fell ill, and such other reasons, it is said. The lady says that he clicked several photoes of her in his company during these occasions, and later threatened her to hand over these pictures to her husband and her family, in addition to uploading them in social media sites. It is said that the youth extracted a sum of Rs 25,000 from her and forced her to part with gold ornaments worth Rs 85,000. After she got fed up and threatened him of filing police complaint, Cyril Joseph fled from Bangalore, leaving his job and the rented house, it is learnt.

In a complaint filed in J P Nagar Bangalore police station on July 7 this year, the woman said that the youth had threatened her of ruining her life if she failed to get divorced from her husband.

Policemen from Bangalore visited Mudoor in the taluk, looking for the accused. But they had to return empty-handed, as the accused was not traceable here. The woman also has decided to approach Karnataka State Women's Commission in this regard to get justice, it is gathered.

Guys (bad) take advantage only if an opportunity is provided to them.
It looks like the whole situation is the result of mutual consent. Why she kept her husband in the dark till the last moment? Ladies please act smart and not to repent when it is too late.

While empathizing with the victim an educated well settled lady falling prey to an outsider is really puzzling!! And how come anybody click pics (which can be used for extortion) without the victims permission!! The 'setting' went sour as the intentions of the accused were malafide, which was not known to the victim initially and when it crossed the tolerance threshold, she was forced to complain!! Just imagine how many such incidents might be taking place going unreported for obvious reasons of loss of credibility in society etc. Jai Hind!!

The above is a personal opinion only!!!

Kundapura Madoor is totally dominated by Keralites. Not only this there are lots of complaints regarding growing the narcotics drugs etc. In the year 1968 due to Naxalites problem in Kerala, these malayalees christians migrated to neighbouring dist.D.K. Due to our congress fudaaries shown soft heartedness for them. They have aquired Mudoor, Naravi,Nelyadi,Hebri
    Belthangadi areas.

The truth is she became very close to him at office, also I smell a rat here, usually in office its common that men and women get clicked together in a group or whole staff, but this boy had photos of him n this lady, on the basis of which he started blackmailing her, So just imagine the kind of photos in his possession, I would only say one thing to this lady, "jaisi karni waisi bharni". You cheated on your husband enjoyed with this chap, now face the consequences.

I think lady very well knew what she was getting into!! why let other man in, take pics that make u uncomfy, and then cry foul, when u have loyal husband and a small kid! there shld be a limit!!

however, this guy shld also be locked up, cos taking pics, broadcasting them and balckmailing a new LOW!! it wasnt true love and cheating was motive! so, no molestation/rape kind of case on this!

Just now I commented on one of similar news. It's absolutely not acceptable. You be irresponsible, you give window for these people to enter your life, enjoy with their company for years and then finally blame opponent. First question why you were so irresponsible. How could he get your photos , that also extreme poses with which he can blackmail you. now it's pay back time... don't blame anybody.

Cases like these are frequent these days. From the account projected by the lady, it appears that the person concerned played A CONFIDENCE TRICK on her. Now it is for the police to get the correct version after questioning both sides. The fact that the accused is absconding is a clue that he is guilty. However the police will investigate and details of detection will be revealed soon.

Let us hope that TRUTH PREVAILS.
