Mangalore: Shetty sisters win medals at Pan American Badminton Championships

Mangalore, Aug 19: Eleven-year old Neha Shetty and her younger sister ten-year old Netra Shetty hailing from Surathkal and now residing in California have won four medals in the Pan American Badminton Championship held in Guatemala, America from July 23 to 27.

Neha won a bronze medal in the singles for girls below 13 years and her sister Netra won the gold medal in a similar category for girls below eleven years. She also won a gold medal in the mixed doubles and a silver medal in doubles.

Seventeen children from Canada, Brazil, Mexico, Argentina, Chile, Jamaica and other countries participated in the games.

Neha and Netra are the daughters of Dr Anupama and Harish Shetty and the grand daughters of Asha and Dr T Ramanath Shetty, Surathkal and Mrs and Dr K Sadashiva Naik.
