Udupi: Girl repeatedly raped, sold in Mysore with lure of job

Daijiworld Media Network – Udupi (EP)

Udupi, Aug 18: In a case of alleged human trafficking, a 19-year-old girl from Udyavar was reportedly raped by her male friend and sold to another person in Mysore on the pretext of providing her a job in television. It is said that a flesh trade mafia is behind this business of luring girls with false promises.

It is alleged that Sameer, the girl's friend, had convinced her parents that he would provide the girl a job in television, and taken her to Bangalore and then raped her saying that she must to do these things if she wanted a chance to appear on TV. He subsequently sent the girl to Tamil Nadu where she was raped by other men saying that they would be giving her an opportunity to star in TV, it is alleged.

Sameer then took her to Mysore and sold her to a person known as Sunil, it is learnt. Sunil, said to be a wealthy person residing in Mysore, allegedly raped her repeatedly by keeping her in house arrest.

Meanwhile, the family members of the girl who learnt of the happenings complained to the police, who raided the place in Mysore and rescued the girl.

The girl has alleged in her complaint that Sameer and Sunil raped her. Police have arrested Sunil but the prime suspect Sameer is absconding.

Vijayanagar police are on the lookout for Sameer. The police are investigating the possibility that Sameer might have cheated more girls in this manner. The police have reportedly obtained some important clues from Sunil during interrogation.

I'm sure this case will also go with the wind like other rape case around India , because to punish the culprits rape victim has to provide lots of evidence which is very much shameful and difficult..as a result, culprits will walk out freely..

    Dear RSRB, Kundapura / Singapore,

You are right. Moral policing can be done, but not as it is done in mangalore. Moral policing can be done in a more legal way. And for the girl in news above, there would not have been any case if she was given a chance in Television. She agreed with the boy on the pretext of getting a chance in tv..btw I am not saying the guys are right. they should be severely punished in a way that no one else should dare repeat such action..

As India is getting more and more MISANDRY ( male hatred ) with one sided women friendly laws , above cases bound to happen. ANY RELATIONSHIP WHICH TURNED SOAR due to unfulfilled promises can be a RAPE now a days. Even some vociferous women file false cases to claim money from NIRBAYA FUND.

I hope courts shed lights on the above issue , more and more false cases are enravelled , FIR has been lodged against women. A false case victim also should be a survivor and suitably compensated.

I would say that all because of loose character and undignified life style of the girl. Even the parents are no less (greed at the cost of their daughter’s sanctity) who allowed grown up daughter to travel or move with a man in the pretext of job opportunity. The entire group to be blamed.
Such incidents may be limited where the family members live with dignity, respect human morals and is God fearing.

    GIRLS TIME TO WAKE UP.

Just imagine, if during their first meeting, some one from Moral Policing had noticed them and stopped them and beaten the boy, I am sure this might not be the end.

It seems that the readers are blaming the parents and the girl . What about the stupid cruel so called " human being" acting like animals in this case? It seems like the word "rape" is common these days. Something needs to be done to stop this nonsense. GIRLS, PLEASE BE AWARE, DONT GET TRAPPED WITH SCAM. DON'T NEED TO TRAVEL with a stranger to get a job. It is sad and heartbreaking to hear such incident occurring almost every day. The accused in this case should receive a harsh punishment with similar kind so they won't do this again.

ATROCIOUS. Crimes like these are on the increase in Karnataka - a place which was once a Haven to many. Young girls could go around without any fear from the cruel rapists.

Hope the police come down heavily on the perpetrators of this crime and ensure that the guilty are severely punished with tattoos on the forehead stating RAPIST in Kannada and other languages.

Hi RSRB, moral policing is not required here. Instead some common sense is required. Not sure y in spite of so many things happening around, ppl still act dumb. It is responsibility of parents and teachers and also the so called leaders to spread the awareness among students. And not ur stupid moral policing which just spoils the harmony of the society.

I really don't understand is it the innocence or foolishness of the girl. At least her parents should have done some research before sending their daughter. It's not that easy to control crime in a country when its republic and democratic but as individuals we can definitely stay away from being victim for these kind of crimes by just taking some more responsibility of checking if everything is right.

I fail to understand how the parents could send their daughter with a man, without the presence of another family member. Parents should first be held responsible for the safety of their child. Agreed that what she went through was bad enough but all parents have a moral responsibility. Parents can help to a great extent to curb rapes in society. Had the parents been vigilant would these men have done what they did.

@ Rsbs - Moral police are illegal and against the law. They are often people having criminal backgrounds. We saw what happened to HJV member Yatish who was killed by Hindu Yuva sena member after a booze party.

These Beedi, rowdy and daaru senas are a nuisance and menace to a peaceful society.

They do not offer any solutions but aggravate the problem.

Thank you for taking "Moral Police" in the right sense. These moral police need not be from Hindu groups, but can be anyone.

When Moral police find something fishy / doubtful going on, they can silently call police or if police delays, they can even intervene.

If they happened to find brother-sister, boy with would-be, not to be disturbed.

Boyfriend - girlfriend may prove dangerous if parents are not aware. Most of the cases these "maja" take places without knowledge of parents.

Some people do not understand what is moral policing. N.M. tells fighting in a booze party is also moral policing....:-)

More than anything, in the absense of Moral Policing, people may misuse the rights given to them and spoil the girls of the society.
