Mangalore, Aug 17: The Dr TMA Pai Convention Centre in the city was witness to a magnificent performance of grace and poise as young Bindiya Bangera made her debut Bharatanatyam performance on stage in the presence of an august audience.
The 'Bharatanatyam Rangapravesha', the 'Arangetram' or solo debut on stage by Bindiya, a student of Karnataka Music and Dance Academy, was held on Friday August 15. Her grace, elegance and perfect symphony of expressions and moves enraptured the audience.
Addressing the gathering, Vyjayanthi Kashi, former president, Karnataka Music and Dance Academy, said, "Art and culture are the strengths of our country and the youth should grow up to be its cultural ambassadors. The attempt by Bindiya Bangera is an inspiration in this direction," said
"Bindiya Bangera is an example of what the youth can achieve. This day is a result of her teacher’s hard work, encouragement by her parents, and Bindiya's own hard work, determination and enthusiasm," she said.
Professor M Sathish Bhat, principal, Canara College, presided over the programme. Former MLA Rukmayya Poojary, Pushparaj Jain, president, CREDAI, and businessman Navinchandra Suvarna were the chief guests.
Bindiya is the daughter of Ganesh Bangera, propreitor of G B Constructions, and Chitra G Bangera. Her parents were felicitated on the occasion.
Bindiya is pursuing he final year BCom at Canara College in the city. She has been undergoing training in Bharatanatyam for the last ten years, under the tutelage of Vidhushi Vidyashree Radhakrishna, director of Music and Dance Academy.
