Mangalore: Providential escape for two as car hits divider and autos, overturns

Mangalore, Aug 14: Two persons had a providential escape after the car they were travelling in went out of control, hit two auto rickshaws and turned turtle.

The accident occured near NIT-K, Suratkal, here on Thursday August 14.

The car was moving from Udupi to Mangalore, when its driver suddenly lost control and the vehicle skidded, hitting the divider, two parked auto rickshaws and then turning over completely.

Two persons, a girl and a man, were in the car, and both of them escaped with minor injuries. They were taken to a private hospital at Suratkal. Their identities are not yet known.

Eyewitnesses said that the car was being driven at a high speed, which resulted in the accident.

Suratkal traffic police arrived at the spot and registered a case. Traffic at the spot was affected for sometime.

    This stretch of road is very straight and smooth,I think over speeding is definitely the cause. The road between Mangalore and Udupi has become a danger ridden road Luckily no one is hurt here, Thank God

    This is Escape from tragedy for Car people, but Grachara for Rickshaw people. While Car people where lucky enough to escape, Rickshaw people where unlucky to have their vehicle with dent for no fault of theirs.
