In Gadag district there is one Lingayat Matha called Annadaana Matha. Last week while celebrating 100th year of salvation of former (Late) Pontiff the devotees insisted that the Present Pontiff should allow them to perform Pada Puooja & Tulabhaara with grains.
But the present Swamiji told that he is not interested in Padapooja, Adda-Pallakki or Tulabhara with grains & Coins. He told his devotees should do his Tulabhara with Blood donated by devotees. Immediately blood donation camp was arranged with the help of local blood bank and 620 devotees donated blood on the spot.
Swamiji`s weight was just 70 kg, but the donated blood weighed 250 kg (620 units). If all the Swamijis of our State follow this great example then our country`s blood requirement will be met easily. Our country requires 4 crore units of blood per year, but actual availability is only 40 lakh units of blood that is just 10% of actual requirement.

    Bother Shankar,
Am very much aware of the need for blood - Allah na kare kisi ko khoon ki zaroorat pade,
My suggestion was to prepare a list of donor who will be willing to donate blood when somebody is need... i myself have discarded many bags of blood collected in such blood donation camps coz they crossed the expiry date... its not about how many units were collected its about how many were utilised ....

    Salim bhai,
If there is excess getting expired, so be it.
But at a point of need, let no one face the scarcity.

Good work VHP. Service to mankind is service to God.
    Love your neighbor as yourself.

But VHP organizing service-oriented programmes for the Hindu community alone?
Christian Hospitals, School Colleges, Orphanages, Old age homes accommodates and serves all the communities! Broad minded!

Its good that VHP is doing a facelift with these kind of activities. My support for VHP increases much more.
Now its time to groom yourselves up. At least in a press conference develop the decency to button your shirt to the neck.

A very Noble cause.... every Human should participate in it,
But 1 lakh units of blood at one time not a good idea ... as we all should know stored blood has an expiry date ... after which the blood bags are disposed.... so please request to all organisors of these kind of programmes to kindly maintain a list of possible donors who can be contacted at the time of need......
