New Delhi, Aug 7 (PTI): Shiv Sena on Wednesday said that with Congress and NCP having decided to unitedly fight the upcoming Assembly elections in Maharashtra, the alliance would meet with the same fate as it did in the Lok Sabha polls.
"Congress and NCP deciding to fight the polls together is a good thing. They will again face a similar defeat in the Assembly polls like the one they tasted in the recent Lok Sabha elections," said senior Sena leader Sanjay Raut.
Of the 48 Lok Sabha seats in Maharashtra, the Congress-NCP alliance won only six seats, of which four were won by NCP and the remaining two by Congress.
Sena's comments came on a day when NCP chief Sharad Pawar said that Congress and his party would together fight the Assembly polls in Maharashtra.
