Mangalore, Aug 6: 'Rang', a Tulu flim by Kateeleshwari Combines Productions is all set to release on Friday August 8 in Mangalore and Udupi theatres.
This was announced at a press meet held at the Cinepolis in City Centre here on Wednesday August 6.
Addressing the media, executive producer Sukhpal Polali said, "Rang movie will be released in 12 theatres of Mangaore and Udupi on August 8. The movie will be screened in Suchithra, Big Cinemas, PVR Multiplex theatres in Mangalore, Kalpana in Udupi, Inox theatre in Manipal, Nakshathra theatre in BC Road, Aruna theatre in Puttur, Bharath theatre in Beltangady, and also in Karkala and Moodbidri."
"Celebrity Bollywood actor and a comedian Johny Lever has acted in the film. South Indian music director Manikanth Kadri composed the music and all the five movie songs have come out well. 'Premanathe Pass Athe' song has already become very popular. This is the second film starring Arjun Kapikad as the lead actor. The humorous dialogues are by Devadas Kapikad who is also acting in the move, along with renowned actors Naveen D Padil, Bhojaraj Vamanjur and Satish Bandale. This movie has got a particular story and exciting action," he said
"We took almost 40 days to shoot the film in and around Mangalore. We do not have the exact estimation of how much money we spent on the movie but I can say that it has cost more than Rs one crore. We never compromised on anything. This movie is as good as any Kannada film," he added.
Devadas Kapikad said, "This movie is filled with lot of entertainment. If a movie has to earn success, there should be no restrictions while shooting. In this movie, the actors never had any kind of constraints, and everyone enjoyed during the shooting. The new artites were given training by a theatre specialist before the shooting started. I am acting as a principal in the movie and I have enjoyed every bit of it."
Bhojaraj Vamanjur said that the movie depicts the culture of Tulunadu.
Movie producer, Devadas Kumar Pandeshwar said that the movie was made with a lot of efforts. "Every person in Mangalore should watch this film and I hope that it runs for more than 100 days," he said.
Movie directors Suhan Prasad, Vismay Vinayak, Pramila Dev and others were also present.
