Mumbai, Aug 6: The Billava community took their time out and participated in various indoor competitions held at Billava Bavana. The indoor events, named as, Kantabare-Boodabare were organized by Yuvabhydaya, a subordinate committee of the Billava association.
The honorary president of the Billava association Jaya Suvarna inaugurated the event and said, "The association was established under guidance and farsightedness of the community elders. The association run on the direction laid by elderly people has been conducting social activities, thus achieving pride among others."
He urged the young generation, in his address to unite for a cause of all-round development of the Billava society. He also said that the young blood has to be skillful to light-up the talents in their lives and to rise above many bars in the society. Referring to the competition, he said, "The competition is one of the platforms to make others take note of ones talent. Competition also acts as a measure to scale the level of talent one possess."
"The lifestyle, time and sacrifice of Kantabare-Boodabare is a perfect model for the young to emulate. Competitions enhance the personality of the individual. The youths should take part in the competitions to yield the benefits to reach many miles in the journey of life," he concluded.
Many people took part in events such as carom, chess, painting, table tennis, rangoli and others. During the event vice presidents of the association, Nityananda D Kotyan, C T Salian, Bhaskar M Salian and other guests were present.
