Mangalore, Aug 3: The city crime branch (CCB) police on Friday August 1 arrested elusive rowdy sheeter Imran, who is allegedly involved in several murder cases including murder, nine years after he escaped from the clutches of police at Bappanadu under Mulky police limits.

The CCB on the information of his arrival at Kankarnady junction railway station conducted a swift operation and arrested Imran.

Imran is wanted in the murder of Rakesh Kola, a cable network businessman who was killed near Udupi Residency hotel on September 21, 2003. Siraj Hasan, Yuvaraj Tingalaya, Gopal Bangera, Riyaz Sheik and Imran were accused in the case.

Imran was lodged in the district jail in Mangalore. On November 21, 2005, he and other accused were escorted by police to Udupi for a hearing of the case. A case was registered based on the complaint by the policemen who were escorting him.

Since then, Imran has been escaping the law. After nine years of fruitless search, he was finally nabbed at Kankanady junction.

The arrest operation was conducted by CCB inspector Valentine D’Souza, along with other CCB staff, namely Shashidhara Shetty, Ganesh, M P Ganesh Kalladka, Venugopal, Chandrashekar, Dinesh Bekal and others.

In almost all escape cases the natures call is the main reason.
Police van should be altered to have a small toilet or at least provide them a water bottle to release. It is as simple as that. Why IPS brains not working?....
