Mangalore, Jul 31: Here's a golden opportunity for aspiring singers to earn name and fame and make their mark on television too. Bigtime Creations is all set to host 'Mangalore Idol', a hunt for a musical star from Dakshina Kannada.
'Mangalore Idol' powered by Electrical Point is an open-to-all singing competition for participants from across the DK district.
The programme will be telecast as episodes for a month on Daijiworld24x7 channel and also covered on Radio Mirchi 98.3 FM. City center Mall has come forward to lend its venue for the preliminary round which will be held on August 13.
The grand finale will be held on August 15 where 20 participants will compete. Top music director Manikanth Kadri and Kannada playback singers Santhosh Venky and Supriya Lohith will be the judges for the same. The finals will be held at Devadiga Samaja Bhavana, Mannagudda, Gandhinagar, Mangalore.

Rules and Regulations
The competition is open for all persons aged 15 years and above. Age proof should be attached with the entry form.
Each entry must consist of a completed application form and the appropriate entry fee of Rs 50.
The entry fee is NON-REFUNDABLE. The participants along with the filled entry forms should report at the venue at the specified time. All entries must be received by August 13 between 10 am and 12 noon at City Centre Mall, Mangalore.
All entries that are uncooperative, under the influence of drugs or alcohol, use of profanity or display of any action perceived unacceptable by Bigtime Creations will be disqualified and removed from the premises.
No refunds will be done.
Audition marks will be awarded as follows:
Singing ability 55% (on a scale of 30-35)
Professionalism 10% (on a scale of 1-10)
Appearance 10% (on a scale of 1-10)
Judges reaction 25% (on a scale of 5-25)
The participants with the highest score will be selected for the competition.
The decision of the judges and Bigtime Creations will be final.
Each contestant has to sing one song. The length of the song should be limited to no more than two minutes. Preliminary round will be done without music. Contestants should be prepared with at least two Hindi and one regional song).
Contestants should get at least two Hindi karaoke and one regional, apart from Hindi.
The contestants shall use only the equipment provided by Mangalore Idol competition.
The contestants are required to cooperate with and follow the direction of the master of ceremony and the event convener.
All contestants are encouraged to perform to their best. The dress worn should be presentable.
The preliminary round will be conducted on August 13, 2014 between 12 noon and 6 pm at City Centre Mall, Mangalore.
20 winners will be chosen for the finals which will be held on August 15, 2014.
