Udupi, Jul 31: Two missing children have been found at separate locations and are now being sheltered at Spoorthi Dham. The boy named Venkatesh (Durga) is around three-years-old, and was found near Alwatti Bus Stand in Shimoga district.
He was rescued by the district police and then handed over to Surabhi Institution in Soraba city. The organization estimated that he might have gone missing three months ago from his hometown. Finally, CMC Shimoga transferred him to Spoorthi Dham. According to him, his mother’s name is Laxmi and father’s name is Nagraj. Venkatesh is a very smart child and a quick study. He is fluent in Kannada.
Another boy named Farooq was found in similar circumstances. The six-year-old has been at Spoorthidama, since one month ago. He was found near the platform at Udupi railway station platform and had Rs 350 in his pocket when he was rescued by the railway police. He knows Marathi also and he claimed that his mother’s name is Regina and father’s name is Babu and that he hailed from Indi, Maharashtra.
In both instances, no case has been registered at any police station. So, it would be difficult to connect the dots. So, Keshav Koteshwar has requested that if anybody comes to claim them, they should appear with all evidence. “The management will wait for a few more months, after which they will be up for adoption,” he added.
