Karnataka Sangha, Andheri celebrates seventh anniversary

Mumbai, July 31: "As the Almighty lives in the hearts of everybody, the concern for each other is the true devotion of the Almighty.
Keeping people happy is the prayer to the Almighty. Scriptures say it. Helping a woman in distress is the devotion to the heavenly mother. It is heartening that Karnataka Sangha Andheri has put it into practice," said Pejavara Adhokshaja Mathadeesha  Vishweshwara Sripada.

"Once upon a time, kings used to rule the citizens but now citizens have become kings and is heartening to note that citizens are sharing the hardships of others," he said.


The Vishweshatheertha was speaking after lighting the traditional lamp and inaugurating the seventh anniversary of Karnataka Sangha, Andheri held at Radhabai T Bhandary hall in Bantara Bhavana at Kurla east.

The grand programme was presided over by Jayashreekrishna Environment lovers committee founder Thonse Jayakrishna A Shetty. Maharastra Minister of Health Suresh H Shetty was the chief guest. Guests of honour Vidwan Kairabettu Vishwanath Bhat, prestigious company presidents C A Shanker B Shetty, Lata Prabhakar Shetty, N T Poojary, Senior Author Dr Sunitha M Shetty, businessmen Karunakar M Shetty, Lata Jayarama Shetty, Nagaraja Padukone, Ganapathi B and Vishwanath Shetty Mahim felicitated and congratulated well-known social worker and executive president of Jasmine Group of Companies, Kalyan, Dr Surendra V Shetty and Baby Surendra Shetty, distributed annual educational scholarships to hundreds of students as usual and wished the students well.

"The culture loving citizens of Karnataka are concerned about society. Karnataka sangha always encourages the talents of children. The
activities of the sangha in my constituency are praiseworthy. The Sangha proceeds after uniting all the communities of Karnataka. May
the Sangha live for hundred years," said minister Suresh.

"The favor to children and the hungry reaches to the Almighty. When the social workers are honored and felicitated they will be encouraged," said Pejavar Shree appreciating the service of Dr Surendra V Shetty. He said that honour to the social worker is the honour to Srikrishna. The Shree wished that the association that can be termed as 'Andheri mein ek deep', drive away darkness and enlighten the minds of all.

Vishwanath Bhat said that the united efforts of the members devoid of selfishness will be successful. "May the almighty bless the efforts of society brethren and the association grow in strength," he said.

“The contribution of the association for those who long for fulfillment of desires in peace and tranquility is unique. Let it be
the duty of everybody to join in the efforts of members who are struggling to do away with discrimination. May the association which
wants the elevation of the society enlighten the lives of common man," said Jayakrishna Shetty in his presidential address.

Several social groups presented dance performance and a dance competition was also held on the occasion. Billawa Seva Sangha
Kundapur bagged the first prize, Karnataka Sangha Mohani the second and Bunts Sangha Meera Bhayandar local committee were awarded the third prize.

Guests of honor presented awards to the winners, wished them well and spoke as per contest. Jayakrishna A Shetty honored and congratulated local judges Jithesh Bangera and Sandhya Kamath.

Founder of the sangha Krishna B Shetty and honorary president P Dhananjay Shetty were present on the dais. Sangha president Harry R Sequeira welcomed the gathering and felicitated Sripada. Former presidents Bhaskar Suvarna, K Ashith Shetty, treasurer Ganesh Ballaya, vice presidents Satish Karkera, Ravindra Shetty, Sudhesh Naik and Nilesh Shettigar, joint secretaries Seetharama K Poojary, Jagjeevan Poojary and Damodar Gowda, joint treasurers Udaya M Kergar, Jagadish Amin and Harish Shetty, cultural committee's Damodar Shetty, youth wing and sports committee's Ashok Shetty Thodar, women's wing executive president Kavita Rao and honorary secretary Anitha U Shetty felicitated the guests with bouquets.

Roopa and Pramila Rai sang the prayer songs. Secretary Rajendra Rao gave information on the activities of the sangh. Sujay Rao read the letters of appreciation of those who were felicitated. Rajkumar Marnad conducted cultural programme. Karnur Mohan Rai introduced the guests and compered the programme. Krishna B Shetty proposed the vote of thanks.
