Mangalore: Fraud running into crores of rupees - Accused arrested

Daijiworld Media Network – Mangalore (SP)

Mangalore, Jul 31: Sheikh Mansoor (38), residing in Janata Colony at Kana Katla near Suratkal, who is facing charges of defrauding many including politicians and entrepreneurs from various parts of the country to the tune of several crores of rupees, was arrested by the Suratkal police on Wednesday July 30. On producing him in the court, Mansoor was remanded to judicial custody till August 8.

The court had issued arrest warrant against the accused relating to 11 cases of fraud registered in Suratkal police station. Reportedly, Mansoor had been taken into custody once earlier, but he had succeeded in giving the policemen a slip. It is gathered that during the police questioning then, he had confessed to several of his crimes.

Reportedly, the accused had bought jowar costing around Rs 17 lac from a JDS leader from Hassan district by getting himself introduced through a former station house officer here, and then failed to pay the purchase consideration. It is said that several dignitaries including a woman Congress leader from Dakshina Kannada district were among those who were cheated by the accused. He was adept at convincing people about his honest intentions through nice approaches, innocent looks, and fake documents. It is said that he used to get introduced to people with different names.

In the past, Mansoor is said to have told the policemen that the people of Dakshina Kannada district were easiest among the people of south India to cheat. He told the interrogators that the people on their own handed over cash, demand drafts, cheques etc to him, and that he had never taken money forcefully or stolen it.

Mansoor has standing cases in Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Maharashtra, Pondicherry, Gujarat, Kolkota and other states relating to defrauding well-known personalities.

Good Point Raghu Shetty. Some of the tuluva families held their properties for over 300 to 800 years. Today the new owners are selling them for 100's of crores. The family that held them were given less than 500 RS per acre with a cap so that they don't get too much. Who will compensate this for the following generation??. It is gone and as you mentioned they took our kindness to be our weakness. I would ask Tuluva's to become tough and protect your interests, we don't have any organization looking at our welfare. Our elderly folks who are clinging to what is left will be murdered or robbed by these folks.
Will all the communal and religious isolation taking place now in Mangalore 'banduthva' is dead.

" ... that the people of Dakshina Kannada district were easiest among the people of south India to cheat. "

I had mentioned elsewhere the same, it was the Tuluva culture which prevailed in this area that was abused. Problem is when people think your kindness is your weakness and exploit. Tuluva culture is slowing dying out.
Look at how tulunadu accepted the Christians, Byari's , marathi's ( yes a sizable portion of early immigrants from Maharashtra). We took the hit of the tenancy act and lost our lands. For 6 generations our family were a landed class owning villages and were given a pittance a generation back in garb of land to the tiller, and today every inch of this same land is sold at unbelievable prices.
I don't want to get into a religious or cultural debate but look around where are the tuluva's now ?. Pretty much most of the buildings have Spanish names or names that are not local. The identity is slowly and surely being erased. I curse my ancestors for allowing foreigners at that time to live in harmony. The foreign culture is the type that will digest the local culture and excrete us.

Dear brother, I know you very well. Here it is not my interest to seperate n devide muslims..here we are not speaking about govt grants or votes etc but we are talkingand discussing about crime n anti social activities.. why no of children are more in beary community? Why poverty isvery very high in beary community?. Why divorce n desertion is very high in beary community..? Why illiteracy is high in this community. ? The only reason is more children less income n no one to guide them n no true knowledge of islam..there is least education ..so they need to surviven n compete in society n resort to crime to get easy money...so our community name is spolit...I have the right to defend my community from getting bad name..why turki or nawaithi community should get a bad name because of this criminal community...becoz of these members v cant buy land n house of our choice, no one wants to rent house or shops to us...lets make clear to our society that its not us but its they...I am not ready to suffer any more n v hv suffered a lot.. I will start an awareness compaign n movement in this regard.....our whole community cant be called as criminals. Islam is a religion of peace, security, sharing n caring, Atrue muslim will build good society..just reading quran in arabic is not enough,, one should know the meaning n context...A practicing muslim is million time better than a proxy muslim...muslims of coastal karnataka wake up to the realities....Defend yourself n your community....show to the world that u r muslim as pictured in quran n u r a truefollower of prophet mohamed pbuh

Sometimes we wonder how prosperous people are and how they earn money. We notice their families splashing money all around.....in supermarkets, latest gadgets, vehicles, clothes and so on. This maybe the trick of the trade.

We are one among the cheated. He cheated us. Took 2.5Lakhs saying its for business investment but it was for his enjoyment(which we came to know later). If i get a chance, i want to slap him in public in front of his home-mates. We gave him money with trust and no agreement or any such things were done.

"In the past, Mansoor is said to have told the policemen that the people of Dakshina Kannada district were easiest among the people of south India to cheat." Unquote...
    1. What is this? A certificate from a cheat?
2.Can this be made public? That too in a place which is an educational hub, cradle of banking etc? Tell me my fellow D.K.ians?
3.This man putting 'Makmal' Topi to politicians? That too JDS!!
Allocate some funds to do his 'brain research' please.
Now whatever this third rate may have to say, I tell you why people
from D.K are easy to cheat.
1.People here are very soft and believe.
2.They never intend to harm others.
3.They are always helpful. That is why people from outside take advantage.
4.People from D.K. are also Romantics- Yes or No?
5.D.K. therefore is a 'heaven On earth'. Many have tried to spoil it
    but in vain.
    Long Live D.K!

yes most educated\learned people are easiest to dupe as they do not have working knowledge of many many things. They are good in writing programmes\essays and write many unwanted\silly quips (like here in the forum) but get duped by any\many ordinary persons without any education....
