Mangalore, Jul 26: The members of Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) on Saturday July 26 allegedly abused the principal of University College at Hampankatta during celebrations following the college elections.

It is said that soon after the college student council election results were declared, the students broke out in celebrations and held a victory procession. The ABVP reportedly brought two mini buses and parked them inside the campus, to which college principal Satyanarayana Rao objected.

Also, it is alleged that the ABVP also brought former students of the college and outsiders to participate in the procession, without the permission of the principal.

Arguments arose between the principal, the lecturers and the ABVP and students, and in the chaos that followed, ABVP members who were outsiders allegedly pushed a lecturer and also insulted the the principal with abusive words.

The Pandeshwar police arrived at the spot and brought the situation under control.

Based on a complaint by Satyanarayana Rao, the Pandeshwar police filed an FIR. Further investigations are on.

Earlier, during the college elections, Shyam Prasad Bhat was elected the president while Ashok was chosen as secretary and Shwetha Herala as joint secretary.

ABVP and NSUI are two facets of the same coin a stepping stone for formative useless politicians.. we have seen many successful politicians who were all active student union leaders and are currently in power.. The political parties need these people to fulfill their agenda. Ask the parents of these students do you know what your Ward today did in college !!! sure they will be many frowned eyebrows!

Hello old students of all colleges go and join your respective college old students association by paying nominal membership fee. Why do you want (All Blunder Vidyarhi Parishad) to join A B V P. ? If you want to show off your muscle power join Indian Police Force or Indian Army Force. If you want to show off in front of girls like 'Uttara Kumara' then it is left to you. It is your funeral. If you are still studying then don't join any Parishad. Think only about about studies .

The students must understand where they are heading? They themselves are ruining their own future. This is due to hot blood and young age, which make them to crazy.Educational institutions are there for moulding the future/destiny of the students.Students must respect and oblige the rules/regulations/norms of the schools/colleges and these school, colleges are not meant for indulging in unwanted activities. The students must learn discipline, good attitude/etiquette,mannerism inside the school, colleges, which will help them in long run.The students should not carry away with the impression tha once they enter into the college campus they are kings/heroes and can do whatever they want.

Give respect to the teachers/lectures rather than indulging in unwanted activities. One must understand in their lives that" MATHR DEVO BHAVA,PITHR DEVO BHAVA,AACHAARYA (teacher) DEVO BHAVA,ATHITHI DEVO BHAVA".Don't behave/act like animals.Very sad incident. The students can fight for their rights but this is not the way.I wish all the students to mend their minds and God bless all of them.First you must try to understand, how much your parents are struggling and undergoing difficulties to bring you up with untold stories.Keep their hopes alive.

Very well written article by Shekar Moily if these students don't mend their ways and realize how to respect their teachers\lecturers\principal.even if outsiders misbehave these students should guard their lecturers and Principal from outside attack. The early they learn their mistake the better for society\nation because todays students are the future of the country
