Mangalore, Jul 26: In order to mark the significance of the support extended by the Muslim community to the field of medicine, Global Hospital observed an Iftar gathering on Friday July 25.
The gathering kicked off with Hyder Partipady invoking the blessings of God by reading some lines from the holy book of Islam, the Quran.
Alhaj K S Mohammad Masood, president, Jamiya Majid Kudroli, who unveiled the food package (Iftar) to be distributed to the needy patients of the hospital, appreciated the management for its service to the distressed minority section who suffer from various ailments. He advised the pioneers of the hospital Dr Sushil Jathanna and Dr Sudaram Rai to continue their service with greater passion.
He said, “The good work we perform during Ramadan will fetch success in the future days. God will be kind to those committed to social service.” Masood beseeched the Almighty Allah to bless the doctors and the patients of the hospital.
Dr Jathanna, director, Global Multi-Specialty Hospital, said that the Iftar was organized to recognize the support offered by the Islam community in establishing the hospital. “The hospital was built with the motto of providing medical assistance to the poor and needy minority sect. As there was no hospital in place in the catchment area of Mattadakani, we mooted the idea of establishing the hospital,” he said.
The founders, according to Dr Jathanna, decided to set up a hospital that would cater to the demands of poor patients as an attempt towards social service on their part. He said the hospital has various treatment features including many units that function round the clock.
During the programme, Dr Rai, director, Global Multi-Specialty Hospital, Abdul Majid managing partner, Gold House, and Bhaskar Aras, media advisor, were present.
