Bhandarkar aims to provide 'meaningful entertainment' again


Mumbai, July 24 (IANS): Acclaimed filmmaker Madhur Bhandarkar, who has started rolling the cameras for his next movie "Calendar Girls", is hoping he offers purposeful entertainment to film aficionados.

"Thanks everyone for d messages & wishes on #CalendarGirls. The endeavor's always to provide meaningful entertainment. Will keep you posted," Bhandarkar tweeted Thursday.

The filmmaker, who has earned name and fame with Bollywood movies such as "Page 3", "Corporate" and "Fashion", canned the first shot for "Calendar Girls" Wednesday.

The youthful movie, he says, is "high on concept" and has five new faces. It will be shot in a 40 day start-to-finish schedule. He had shared with his Twitterati that he experienced "a mixture of excitement & nerves" on the first day of the film's shoot.

Honey Singh gifts pure gold lockets

Rapper Yo Yo Honey Singh is said to have gone out of his way to appreciate the talent he has spotted while auditioning contestants for new singing reality show "India's Raw Star". He gifted pure gold lockets to welcome the shortlisted candidates for the show.

Honey Singh visited various cities like Ahmedabad, Varanasi and Jaipur to welcome 10 shortlisted people to "India's Raw Star" family. They were chosen via digital audition.

He also made sure to finalise the design for the gold lockets as he wanted to give the contestants a special token of appreciation and acknowledgement for their talent.

The "Blue eyes" singer will appear as a judge-cum-mentor on the Star Plus show, which is aimed at finding a singing sensation.

Madhavan undergoes dental transformation for film

Actor R. Madhavan, who reportedly lost 15 kg for his role as a boxer in "Laal", says he has now undergone a dental transformation for a movie, whose name he has not disclosed.

"OF all da things I have undergone for da sake of this FILM, da current dental transformation is da worst - can't speak can't eat - crew ecstatic," Madhavan posted on Twitter.

His post prompted his fans to question him about the movie he was referring to, but the actor said: "No Folks. I can't talk anything about this film Now. So can't do interviews. So sawee. lot invested. will do at right time n place."
