Mangalore, Aug 15: For the outstanding and meritorious service, the Police Department has awarded the Presidential Medal 2006 to ASI Byndoor Narayana.

Born on Mar 24, 1951 in Kundapur, Narayan joined the police force and was promoted as Head Constable and later promoted as Police Sub Inspector.

His track record speaks for his determination towards work. Narayan has been instrumental in bringing murderers and robbers behind bars.

Apart from keeping a check on the counterfeit currency notes, Narayana has been instrumental in nabbing the most wanted rowdies from Mumbai.

He has served in the Mangalore East, Mangalore South, Mangalore North, Udupi, Bantwal, Barke, Urwa Police Stations, Bajpe and Moodbidri.

Presently he is working in the Mangalore Anti-Rowdi squad. 

A recipient of the Chief Minister's Bronze Medal in 1998, Narayan is known was nabbing the associate of Bannanje Raja and members of Chota Rajan's gang.
