Moral policing at Ujire: Three more nabbed, all 7 accused sent to Bellary jail

Daijiworld Media Network - Beltangady

Beltangady, Jul 19: The Beltangady police on Saturday July 19 arrested three more accused in connection to the moral policing incident that occured at Ujire on July 16.

The accused are identified as Praveenkumar (25), a resident of Kalmanja town, Narayana (36), a resident of Ujire and Kiran (27), a resident of Kalmanja.

With this, the number of arrests in the case has risen to seven.

On Thursday July 17, the police had arrested Gopal (32), a resident of TB Cross in Laila here, Ajith Kumar (23), a resident of Mani in Bantwal, Suresh Salian (22) from Valpady in Moodbidri, and Lingappa Naik (37), a resident of Machar Ujire.

The police produced them before the judge seeking permission to shift them to Bellary jail. The judge grant the permission, and accordingly, all the seven accused were taken to Bellary jail the same evening.

The incident occured when the 19-year-old girl, who had come for her sister's admission at a college, was waiting for the bus at Ujire along with a 23-year-old youth. The mob, assuming them to be lovers belong to different communities, surrounded them and began questioning about their identities and allegedly harassed them. The police rushed to the spot and brought the situation under control. Based on a complaint lodged by the youth, the police booked the accused under various sections of the IPC.

From the photos published in Media, we could see not less than 50 - 60 goondas have assembled at the trouble spot. Then all the goondas should have been rounded and taken to Bellary.

Is it not a waste of tax payers money to spend on these 7 rowdies ???, INSTEAD why cant the matter be finished with a single encounter, so that other rowdies and goondas will learn a permanent lesson.

This is a good act from the police dept to refrain any further such incidents ,and that the public doesn't take law in its hands in the name of moral policing or anything of this sort. If we find something wrong happening report it to the police and they are there to take proper action with proper investigation. A good act from the dept.
Public should compliment this act of the police and appreciate it

This is how our law works, Rape accused will get major charge like goonda act in repeated attempt(!), but moral policing accused will get immediate jail. Just for vote bank our politicians can do anything. I'm not supporter of congress but I think earlier congress governments were way better than Nidderamayya government. Nidderamayya eats Biriyani from Shadibhaya and sleeps publicly everywhere. Whats a shame.

This moral policing has gone to a extreem point where no girl or boy can move about without scare.we cant move about in our own independent country without interfering some goondas.such people need really a thourough drill to get off their fett.send them to military instead putting in jail and feeding them. They are not aware what in their house is happening but control elsewhere .They just want to create trouble .It has nothing to do with moral.why they are not questioning these rapists ?is it not against moral? or they themselves involved in it?

One of ABVP student asked one question his lecture.
"Sir what is the different between "theoretical" and "practical" scene?

    Lecture replied.

Couple of month before RSS leader K.Bhatt. one of sangama program on his speech he said "we should secure our girl from the other religions. Muslims and Christians are trying to destroy our Hindu religions in the name love jihad and conversation. So we should do our reaction against them let's go ahead show them our moral policy....."
Actually it is the provoke speech and case register against him. But two days back court given him anticipatory bail without any jail. It is called "theoretical" scene.

"Practical" scene is bit difference. After hearing bhatta speech in that program some RSS branch members trying to implement his point in public and start doing "moral policy" without any fear of law but unfortunately incident get twisted and they are all arrested without any bail.

Moral point of both incident who suggest the "theoretical" speech on stage, he got bail without suffering jail and living lavish life at home.

But who did "practically" they are in jail after lodging several case against them.

Now ABVP student realize his mistake. He complete come out from ABVP wing which is controlling by RSS. He gave very much thanks to his lecture and did concentrate on his studies for better future.
