Mangalore, Aug 10: It was great day for the newly-formed St Lawrence Church of Bola near Naringana here. The jubilant parishioners joined in unison to celebrate the first-ever patron's feast of the church on Thursday August 10.
Bola church dedicated to St Lawrence was recently carved out from the Our Lady of Mercy Church of Panir and was inaugurated by Bishop Aloysius Paul D'Souza on Friday June 16. The parish has been handed over to Claretian congregation to cater for the spiritual needs of the parishioners.
The first-ever patron's feast was marked by solemn Eucharistic celebration which began at 10.15 am. The mass was celebrated by Fr Andrew D'Souza, vicar vara of Mangalore South deanery. Fr Pradeep Correa, parish priest, Bola and Fr Victor D'Souza, parish priest of Panir Church were also present on the occasion.
Bola parishioners and devotees from Panir and other churches participated int he solemn Eucharistic celebration.
