Mangalore, Aug 10: A fisherman met a tragic death after getting entangled in the fishing net at Chitrapur near Suratkal here, on Wednesday August 9 evening.
The deceased has been identified as Rohitaksha (33), son of Achyuta Amin of Chitrapur near Suratkal. He had gone fishing along the Chitrapur shore and was on his way back home when the tragedy occurred.
It is reported that Rohitaksha got entangled in the net, owing to unexpected thunderstorm. The fishing net entangled around his neck choked him to death as he drowned in the sea. Though Dhanpal and Suresh who were with him fished him out of water immediately, he had breathed his last by then.
Suratkal police have registered a case in this regard.
