Kempegowda Airport to have second runway, new terminal

Bangalore, Jul 15: The Kempegowda International Airport will be having a second runway and new terminal.

According to Union Minister of State for Civil Aviation G M Siddeshwara, Bangalore International Airport Ltd (BIAL), the airport operator of Kempegowda International Airport, has plans to construct a second runway and a new Terminal - 2 in line with the traffic projections. 

The expenditure and timeline of the project shall depend upon various factors such as appointment of Technical Consultants, preparation of Detailed Project Report (DPR), stakeholders consultation in line with the guidelines of Airports Economic Regulatory Authority and approval of various authorities, the minister has informed the Lok Sabha.

    Why don't use the old airport for 60% of short haul domestic flights used by small aircraft.
    Why a section of the passenger from from the southern region of Bangalore the should go all the way to Devanahalli for less than an hour duration flights.
    Where there's a will there's a way.
