Bangalore, Jul 8: Quarrying in gomal lands will be permitted by the State Government if the land is covered by huge and hard rocky boulders.
Chief Minister Siddaramaiah gave this information in the Karnataka Legislative Assembly on Tuesday.

Replying to a question from D N Jeevaraj of the BJP during the question hour, the Chief Minister said the government would grant permission for quarrying in gomal lands based on the inspection report submitted by the Revenue and Mines and Geology departments.

Quarry activities have been carried out over several years where the area was covered with rock and cannot be used for any other purposes in such areas by duly conducting joint survey and with officers of Revenue and Mines and Geology departments.

Quarrying would be permitted on lease basis, he said.
