Mangalore, Aug 2: The officials of IndusInd Bank at Light House Hill here have found 60 counterfeit currency notes deposited into the bank by a customer on Tuesday August 1. 

The currency notes of Rs 500 face value were found by the officials during the business hours of the day on Tuesday.  One Sharavan had come to deposit Rs 39,800 into IndusInd Bank on Tuesday.  He gave the cashier 78 currency notes of Rs 500 face value. While checking it was found out that out of the 78 notes, 60 were counterfeit currency.

The officials immediately passed news to Bunder police station.  Inspector Vinay Gaonkar started the investigation during which it was known that Sullia resident Sharavan was an employee with another person.  Sharvan's employer owned a JCB.  A few days ago one Shashindran of Kasargod had taken the JCB for his work.

After his work Shashindran had paid the bill in cash which was given to Sharavan to deposit into the bank.  So it is suspected that Shashindran gave counterfeit currency to Sharvan’s employer.

The police are now trying to nab Shashindran.  But they have not been able to know about his whereabouts so far.  In the last 4-5 months counterfeit currency worth more than Rs 50,000 has been found different banks.
