Mangalore, Aug 1: The valedictory of training programme for Adolescent Peer Volunteers, was held at Prajna Counselling Centre here, on Monday July 31. 

Addressing the gathering, Yogish Bhat, MLA, said that the modern way of life which is stressful and pressurizes the youth, leads them to confine to drugs and alcohol. While adding that human resource is the strength for the progress of a nation, he advised the youth to take up Yoga to ward-off stress and achieve inner peace.

Resource person Nandini Jogi of ministry of youth affairs, urged the adolescent peer volunteers to come up with novel programmes to educate the youth.

Hilda Rayappan, director, Prajna Counselling Centre, Satish, regional coordinator, Nehru Kendra, S K Kapoor and Sudha Sood of UNPF, were present at the valedictory function.

Ministry of Sports and Youth Affairs in association with Nehru Yuva Kendra Sanghatan and United Nations Population Fund, had organized the training programme, wherein peer volunteers from Karnataka, Kerala, Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh, and Orissa, had participated.
