Udupi, Jun 25: B Hariprasad, Prasanna Ganapati Moktesar, Manipal, in a press meet on Tuesday June 5 at Press Club alleged that an engineer called Rajesh, insisted that a lorry driver dump mud into Mannapalla in three or four spots.
Hariprasad said that it will disturb the temple atmosphere and surroundings. He urged the preservation of 120 acres of fertile land in Manipal near Mannapalla, and sought stern action against illegal building construction as well as encroachment of government land in survey no 51 by Rotary Hills Manipal Trust.
Hariprasad said, “Without any discussions with any of the Mannapalla development committee members, a single person named Bojraj has taken all decisions and has been implementing it without paying heed to anyone. Bojraj acquired deemed forest land and the Trust does not have the title deed, RTC records, ‘Katha’ certificate, conversion certificate, site plan, or road access.”
“He has removed the survey stone and used it for building small structures on the same land and is proving a menace to people living in the area,” stated Hariprasad.
