Kasargod: 26-year-old school teacher arrested for sexually harassing 6 girls

Kasargod, Jun 22: A young school teacher was on Sunday June 22 arrested for allegedly sexually harassing six high school girls, three months after a complaint was filed.

The accused, Balamurali (26) is a resident of Neerchal, Badiadka.

It is said that between 2012 and March 2014, he allegedly sexually harassed six girls in the high school he was teaching in. He used to take his victim to the computer lab and sexually harass her, and threaten with dire consequences if she revealed the incident to anyone. Intimidated by his threats, the girls never spoke up.

However, in March this year, one of the victims mustered courage and told her parents about the teacher's behaviour. The parents in turn complained to the Childline, which took up the matter. During counselling, the Childline officials learnt that five other girls had fallen prey.

A complaint against Balamurali was then registered in Kasargod town police station.

As soon as Balamurali learnt about the complaint, he took leave from the school and never returned. The school management too reportedly sided with him. Balamurali went absconding and it was only now, three months after the complaint was lodged, that he was traced and arrested.

Kasargod town police are investigating further.

She makes procession for Bus price hike and other petty issues but not for this or railway hike. Hypocrisy. Curses for those who li and rebirth as Taliban out of 1 crore plus rebirths as promised to most Indians. 31% voted them. Now, GOD help the 69% who were united to break others. Clean Vajpayeeji thought he will rule another 10 years but was removed after five years. What about Corporate Modi? It is a shame that the school management sided him. The police should arrest the school managing committee members for being the promoting party to this illicit activities against minor girls.
The school's teacher parents committee should take action against the supporting committee members.

Absurd , any teacher who is intimate with any student on personal level can be easily booked ' harassment '. In most cases girls show interest first , and after short affair , when matters become public , blame it entirely on boy. Public apathy is that they think they r just kids , time for them to understand world is moved over , raging hormones start early as possible now a days. Sad part is only boys are nailed. Thats due to feminist UN laws , where it promotes higher age of consent in developing countries.

My focus was at "The school management too reportedly sided with him." I understand, in many such cases, School authorities favour such criminals. I am not sure why. It happened in our own city where one teacher was blamed for harassing school girls while on a school expedition. Many girls told same thing, on his sexual activities which most of them observed. Instead of taking severe action against that gentleman, school authorities supported him telling girls might have felt like that and they can not accept such allegations against him. So, I wonder why the hell they support such evil persons , instead of throwign them out to public or police. Here also school authorities favoured him and that must be the root cause for him to continue his activities. It's parents association to spit on the management for their unacceptable behaviour. This gentleman, let's handover him to public or parents, they will teach him proper lesson so that he can never think of any such act.

Its not a laughing matter, its not simply harassing but sexual harassment.
Many teachers do exploit innocent students by using their position, which can cause lot of trauma to the harassed & parents can notice from their unusual behavior & lack of concentration in studies & low marks in exams.
They might be withdrawn & depressed.
Its time Principals & management along with parents to take notice of these vultures & root them out from exploiting kids sensitive minds & body.

It is sad - indeed very sad that every day we read cases about sexual crimes in the media and if not these kind of crimes we read about murders, thefts or accidents due to rash driving.

Mangalore was a very peaceful city where people could live in peace and harmony. What has it come to now?

Hope the authorities make a serious study about these situations and take remedial measures.
